hey the stars looked great though. I'm a newbie pyro. I'm going to make my first metallic stars soon! i was just wondering what D1 means? Or what it is.

@PyroCreationZ For 3" glitter I make 3/8" or 10mm stars. hope that helps, happy new year :)

what about 300 mesh flake aluminum with charcoal (40g Al/ 2 tsp of air float charcoal), the reason i think this would work because i mixed 6g kno3, 4 g of this experimental AL, and 2g sulfur, and it threw a huge amount of white spark when i lit it

@pyrocrazyUSA You can try it and see. Flake aluminum is more reactive, the surface area and flake shape may not allow drops of sulfide melt to form before burning the aluminum. It will likely make a short-tailed streamer instead, which is nice too.

@Hexamine13 Yes. Except I used ~400 mesh spherical Aluminum.
