Outstanding. Period. You can't appreciate what Jo Jones did for drumming until you've played the instrument for decades. The touch, control, and sheer mastery is untouched to this day. The genius of the drum set.

Wow is all I can say! I did a search for the best Jazz drummers of all times and found this man Mr. Papa Jo Jones. I see there were/are, but a hand full that truly pushed the others to their greatness. Papa Jo Jones is teaching you drummers on a Masters level! Take notes and study the masters so you to can one day build upon their great work to make it something even better!

How can modern drummers think they play fast? THIS is fast - fast thinking most of all. Papa jo jones is the only drummer i consider a genius; everyone else i have some hope of emulating but this guy - no way. He's in a class of his own.
