Timur positions himself only as a person who was born and raised in Soviet Union, not Kazakhstan and Russia. Plus, I think Russians have all rights to call him Russian, because only there he was given all the opportunities and chances to develop his business. In Kazakhstan, nobody paid attention at him. V kazakhfilme ego y prinimat ne hoteli. Plus, he got his experience and education in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. So, I have difficulty seeing how he is Kazakh, because he does not accept himself as one

For the record: To be completely correct he is Kazakh and Russian.
But actually what difference does it make, he is a great guy.

the difference is huge, Kazakhstan raised him so therefore Kazakhstan deserves to get some credit from his success. im gonna have to agree with the comment below that Kazakh are proud people and we dont need heros that forget about their roots. If you really want to get into his ethnic background than he is half kazakh and half jewish, so I again have difficulty seeing how he is a russian...

I am not taking credits from Kazakhstan or any body else. My point is that it doesn't make a big difference concerning that he is a nice person, talented guy, whatever he is Russian, Jewish or Kazakh, I enjoyed having conversation with him and I had a good time. I don't want to get chauvinistic in this conversation like some people want to point it out (by the way, note that I wrote ALL listed nationalities with Capital letters )
