I challenge any Sabbatrian to show me one verse in the New Testament that renewed the Old Covenant Sabbath.

  • So I post a verse given by the New Testament in Luke regarding keeping the Sabbath and you don't approve it?? I thought you wanted someone to give you a verse, well I did...where is it???

  • @dotpgrl You posted that comment 11 hours ago. It is not my job to wait around for people to post comments. Since you want to act like a baby then none of your post will be accepted. You could have asked have I seen your post so it could be approved but you just assumed it would not be posted without asking. BTW this is the Sabbath so it must not mean much to you to be doing this on the Sabbath.

  • As a Sabbartarian I'm going to say this. There is no day of worship, period. God DID NOT command anyone to worship on any day. Sunday was used to implement the change of the 4th Commandment hence something like the European Sunday Alliance, forcing people to abstain from work on Sunday. The commandment says to not labor/go to your job on Saturday. The Lord says though with worship on Saturday IF keyword you worship on His holy day not the 1st, you receive the heritage of Israel (Isaiah 58:13,14)

  • @wanderingjewcrawfor lmbo y would non believers (im assuming a non believer dont worship christ) care about a day we worship christ on????? or what a beliver eats or drinks lmbo please tell me where you getting your info from because it dont sound like the bible! lolololol

  • through faith in Christ and not what you do in the flesh. The flesh helped prepare for the greater rest in Christ, but can never enter you into the greater rest, Christ alone has the power to do that the moment you surrender to him.

  • @luisfemart123

Sabbath was never abolished, but the old manner in which it was kept has been. The law of the flesh has been set aside to make way for the law of the Spirit. Just as the law of circumcision could never be fulfilled truly in the flesh by circumcising in the flesh, it was fulfilled in the heart of every born again believer who has received the Spirit, even though they may not perform the fleshly action of circumcision.

Likewise one is entered into the sabbath..

  • @wanderingjewcrawfor None of those verses indicate the apostles "keeping Sabbath." All of them indicate meeting with the Jews, who keep Sabbath, in order to preach the gospel to them. However, there is no way you can read from those verses, in context, and understand that the apostles were keeping the Sabbath. That is called eisegesis - it means you are reading into the text what you want it to say based on your preconceived beliefs. Try letting Scripture interpret Scripture.

  • The book of Acts 13:14,13:27,13:42,13:44,15:21,16:13,17:2,18:4 all indicate the apostles keeping Sabbath;in Colossians we aren't to let non-believers judge when we worship, what we eat or drink, etc.Anything here you'd like to debate?

  • How can Christians so grossly misunderstand Colossians 2:16? What Paul is actually saying is, "Accept no judgement from those not in the Church (body of Christ), regarding your observance of dietary laws, holydays, new moons and sabbaths. Celebrations of things yet to come." Christians are interpreting it to say the opposite of what it says. In Colossians 2:16, Paul is NOT giving believers in licence to drink blood and eat any meat, or violate holydays or sabbath, contrary to Acts 15:20;21.

  • most erudites agree that after the apostles many christians started mixing with pagan religious hence the birth of Sunday worship. the old rituals that where a shadow of Christ's sacrifice (old sanctuary sacrifices) not the old law where abolished. The old testament never tells you you can't sleep with an animal the old testament says that.

Hebrew 4:9 shows Sabbath was never abolished.

  • @gcwagoner

That is not a renewal of the sabbath in that verse, otherwise, Paul and others keeping the feast of unleavened bread was a renewal for other feast days. Do you keep the feast of unleavened bread?

  • "And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath....And the next Sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God (Acts 13:42-44).

If the day of worship had been changed, Paul would probably have said "Come back tomorrow." But, no they waited until the next Sabbath - not the next day.
