This is a Villers engine, they where primarily used on a Ransomes Super Certes 51 cylinder mower. I work at a main Ransomes Distributorship, if you still need any parts for the engine, please message me. you can still obtain parts for this engine.

I've got a 20" 1962 Ransomes Marquis which would have originally had one of these engines, however the guy I'd bought it off had fitted a Honda G100 to it, the Marquis is a semi-professional version of the Auto Certes but had a simpler height of cut adjustment and only a 6 blade cylinder.

I have spent many years working on these type of engines. They were built by BSA and used exclusively on the Ransomes Auto Certes Cylinder Mower. The BSA engine is a Sloper F12
It's definitely a BSA. Which stands for Birmingham Small Arms
