For if you're using the slavery excuse: Native Americans used to keep some of their own people as slaves. Did you know that the people who came from overseas pretty much obliterated Native culture? The Natives don't complain half as often as I hear the "Blacks were slaves!" excuse. There are other people who were more oppressed in history. Yes slavery was horrible, but that doesn't mean you should slap around anyone who isn't black because they looked at you funny. That right there is racism.
