Alexandru Csete OZ9AEC is presenting his S-band receiver ground station project for receiving NASA lunar spacecrafts LRO and LCROSS. The receiver will be based on USRP, DBSRX and GNU Radio.

  • Why don't you use the the integrated Bias T on the DBSRX?

  • @andiegurgel Because the USRP can only supply 6 volts and the LNA needs 9-12 volts.

  • hejsa jeg er entraseret i hvad for noget spørgsmål man bliver stillet når man skal tage et A-B-D-certifikat i radioamatør jeg har selve to FM 40 kanals 11meter radioer men kunne godt tinge mig at udvide min viden enden for radioamatør og jeg har vadet inde på edr siden for at se hvad det kravet og fik de fleste info om det men jeg ku god tinge mig at for bedrede på de ting man skal kunne nå man skal tage et radioamatør certifikat så vis du hade et sted hvor man kan få den info ville takke megt

  • @SuperXMiller Prøv at tage kontakt til en lokal EDR afdeling. De findes over hele landet og det er som regel der man tager prøverne, så de må vide lidt mere om det. Der er også mange afdelinger, som tilbyder kurser.

  • Try to borrow someone's C-band BUD (big ugly dish) and maybe you can get closer to decoding! :-)

  • With this small setup I expect only to detect the presence of the signal but I can not decode any data. For decoding telemetry I would need to receive ~5MHz of bandwidth and that would require a much larger antenna like the ones NASA uses - bigger than 15m diameter.

  • what kind of data stream will you be able to receive? just telemetry or actual imagery data? will you have to write all the software process blocks from scratch?
