  • aside from being able to charge a spare battery with the base, can the laptop use the ultrabase battery's energy while connected

  • @tj87rich The Ultrabase doesn't have a battery built in.

  • Oh, i totally forgot to mention, IPS screen is awesome! I can literally fold the screen close with an inch between screen and keyboard, I can still see the picture without losing a shade of color. Excellent viewing angle. It seems they had 4 cell previously on X200, but not for X220.

  • @HeadingForTomorrow I wish I had the IPS screen that I have seen in Lenovo systems on all of my devices. They are amazing.

  • I received my X220 and it is a mean little machine. Although I can't really figure out why it has to be so thick. There is no DVD drive, and it uses lower profile hard drive, yet, it is still thicker than I thought it would be. And with the 6 cell sticking out from the bottom (not like 9 cell which sticks out from the back), it makes it look even thicker. Did you ever see 4 cell in person? I believe there is also 4 cell option, I am getting EXCELLENT battery life from my 6 cell. No more brick!

  • @HeadingForTomorrow I think Lenovo made only 6-cell batteries for the X220T. I never saw any batteries other than the included ones in these systems.

  • You can get an adapter to put a 2.5 inch HDD in the cd/dvd drive slot too

  • @HeadingForTomorrow That's a good idea.

  • @JesseBAndersen Super glue, yeah :) I was thinking more like those industrial velcros :) Thanks.

  • @HeadingForTomorrow I don't know about bolting it down. I presume you could be creative and superglue it. It's been a while since I had the X201T and the Ultrabase. I remember that it was light, but I don't think I had too many issues with it.
