Actually the version that made this a hit was by Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, long long before UB40, that said they were both classics.

Hmmm. I didn't know Neil D. wrote this! The UB 40 hit (full list of songs) "Labor of Love" is the PERFECT cd/tape etc, for WALKING. I just saw this one today for the first time.

I appreciate this version (surprisingly) although I love the UB40 reggae version - and the one that really made this song of Neil's famous. Both great interpretations!!
