Red, red wine,
Go to my head,
Make me forget that
I still need her so.

Red, red wine,
Its up to you.
All I can do,
I've done;
But memories won't go.
No, memories won't go.

I'd have thought
That with time
Thoughts of her
Would leave my head.

I was wrong,
And I find
Just one thing
Makes me forget.

Red, red wine,
Stay close to me.
Don't let me be alone;
It's tearing a part
My blue, blue heart

  • I appreciate this version (surprisingly) although I love the UB40 reggae version - and the one that really made this song of Neil's famous. Both great interpretations!!

  • his songs are always better in concert.

  • Actually the version that made this a hit was by Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, long long before UB40, that said they were both classics.

  • UN DIA COMO HOY 24 DE ENERO NACIO

    1941: Neil Diamond, cantante estadounidense.

  • @cowboy57hutch1 I know he wrote it and made it first, but even Neil admits that it was UB40's reggae version that brought it to most people's attention. I was only saying that I appreciate both versions...,

  • @recovering16 HUH?????? Neil Diamond made this song big a long time ago! LOL!

  • Can't think of a more heavenly and divine combination. The smooth velvety tones of Neil Diamond and a glass of full-bodied luscious red wine. Wonderful clip.

  • Hmmm. I didn't know Neil D. wrote this! The UB 40 hit (full list of songs) "Labor of Love" is the PERFECT cd/tape etc, for WALKING. I just saw this one today for the first time.

    Outstanding! Thanks. WOW!

  • Probably my favourite Neil Diamond song.
