The "I'm Not Sure That's What Square Intended" AMV Contest

Ever think that someone really, really ought to make a video of the Final Fantasy Girls to Closer by Nine Inch Nails?

Ever made unconscious parallels between Balthier and Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back?

If you answered "yes" to any of these, then this is a contest for you.

The rules are simple. Take a song - a dirty song, mind, not a pretty or romantic one - and put some Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts to it. The video is judged on how hilarious it is, how well the lyrics line up with the video, and how (in)appropriate the song/video is.

This is not a place for an evocative, gorgeous AMV about Tidus and Yuna. There are plenty of other contests for that sort of thing. This is a place for crack. Pure, undilute, enjoyable crack. The videos aren't going to be graded on effects or how pretty you can make it. It's all about the laughs here.

To enter, simply leave a comment saying that you're entering and make your video a response to this one.

Don't take it too seriously. It's not that kind of contest.

-Does it have to be a pairing?
Not necessarily. It just has to be dirty.

-Does it have to be funny?
Yeah. Don't submit an angsty video.

-The deadline is definitely August 1st? What if I can't get mine in on time?
You're out of luck, I'm afraid. I'm moving into the dorms for my first year of college the next week, so I won't be able to take time off to judge them if I move the deadline back.

-Is there going to be a separate judging for Sony Vegas and WMM?
No. You can be funny with a sucky program. Effects are irrelevant in this contest.

-Are you judging these on your own?
It depends on how many people join.

(By the way, what do you win? Well, folks, what can I really do for you? Had I the skills and were this a serious contest, I would say that an introduction would go to the winner, but in such a cracky, light-hearted contest? You'll certainly get favorites and high ratings and recommendations all over LJ, but other than that, it's really just shits and giggles.)
