@balkonda2000 No wonder I remembered from my childhood that it was aur nahin aur sahi...whats obscene about it..if they know what is in Bollywood films these days I bet they will turn in their graves.
Indian censor Board termed "Tu hai harjai to apna bhi yahi taur sahi * Tu nahi aur sahi, aur nahi aur sahi" as obscene, indecent and disgusting. Exasperated by this ridiculous objection, Majrooh revised what appeared in the movie as "Tu hai BHARMAI to apna bhi yahi taur sahi * Tu nahi aur sahi, tu nahi aur sahi" The 78 RPM record released prior to release of movie, contains the original meaningful lyric.
It was year 1960 when I was in Metric (today's 11th std.) We did not have radio at home but I used to hear this song all the time while passing by a hotel or a shop. It used to leave a long lasting shadow of sorrow and uneasiness. Pathos in Mukeshji's voice is unmatched.
Ajay. Hello and thank you. I've had this song on a generic Mukesh record made in Pakistan since 1980. This was the version on it but in the movie the words are a bit different. Instead of "Tu nahin aur sahi, aur nahin aur sahi" it has "Tu nahin aur sahi, tun nahin aur sahi". Guess the words were twisted a bit.
