when i played this for the first time i've cryied so much,... it made me really sad that ash had to go back to the shadows.. why should he be the one going back...

Just reminded of playing and beating this game in my childhood, one of the things I did remember was the sad ending, I just felt like it was su fucking unfair... Good memories :')

reminds me of the ending in link's awakening except you know link was alive

I always hated how that if you talked to any of the villagers before talking to the Elder and the creepy music started playing then when you beat Dark Gaia the first scene of the ending still has the creepy music playing even though it really doesn't fit the conversation between Yomi and Ark.
Other than that though, Terranigma's ending is easily my favorite videogame ending ever.

Poor Ark.... Would have been better if he had died alone in his home town, rather than fucking Light Gaia making a hollow version (Just to drive home that he was always a puppet living in a fantasy world)
