When playing upward scales, the lower fingers stay put.

That's how to do it.

But you are lifting them, which is wrong.

@MucusFelidae I've never heard that but I'll post it in case anyone wants to do it that way ... I'd have to see what the benefit is otherwise fingering is a personal preference ...

Thank you very much, your words towards the end have actually gave me that drive to pick my guitar back up again, a year seems a long time but it'll be worth it eventually!

@pfeels Hey nice stuff!! I got a guitar, it just doesnt sound so nice, that resists me from playing more... It sounds kinda dull I think, if that is the right word, I'd like it to sound like urs :( The guitar is pretty new, cost 50 euros, I tuned it, still doesnt sound so nice, plz help.

@ExoWahid Yeah, all you can do is try new strings ... That's the problem when you buy your first guitar, you have to try it first and make sure it has a decent sound ... Most guitars for under $250 don't unless they are used and you get a good deal ... sorry

@AllThingsAreAmazing Frustration is the number one reason people give up. Beginners don't realize it takes a good year of practice before the fingers do what they should. Playing guitar takes commitment and sacrifice otherwise everyone would play ... You should start of everything real slow and try to build up speed over weeks and months. One year of practice and you'll play for a life time, half hour a day ... Good Luck

@ExoWahid Sometimes it's the strings, they can get dull over time so try replacing them first, other times it's just cheap wood that the guitar is made out of ... My acoustic cost $275 (209.7796 euros) over 20 years ago ...

@pfeels Hey, you've got some really nice and helpfull videos, I got a question, I got an acoustic guitar, bought it for 50 euros, has a guitar bag in it and some accesories, The thing I want to ask is, how come my guitar sounds so ugly, dull is the right word I think, can't really find The word, it just sounds so ... Its not like ur guitar, plus, I got 3 nylon strings and 3 ...metal(?) I believe, it's even depressing, well, hope someone knows, Thanks !
