This was ultra-classy and sassy pre-Oscars 1940's event! What you'll see is a newsreel of the "Back To The 40's Pre-Oscars Party" on 02/20/2011 at the Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge in Alameda CA .
A fabulous time was had by all that evening, "the Island" brought us back in time to the golden age of cinema with all the trimmings and glamour of a real 1940's event.
We all celebrated in our classy,1940's tuxedos and evening gowns that evening at the 83rd annual Academy Awards with our own 40's version of the pre-party, this is a two minutes segment of that event in B&W!
We all enjoyed classic 40's cocktails, 40's records that were spun by DJ Tanoa, and stunningly beautiful Academy Award Winning 40's films on the small and big screen.
Being a paparazzi at F.I. that evening I wanted to keep everything as authentic as possible by shooting on a Mitchell SSR 16mm newsreel camera from the 1940's with B&W 16mm Kodachrome film stock. What you'll see is what I shot of the pre-Oscars gala running at 24fps, enjoy!
