3-24-09 Sorry haven't uploaded anything in awhile guys, been having glaze problems... Unloading the old paragon kiln, and trying to figure out why some glazes are giving me so much trouble with blisters. Maybe a little closer to figuring it out.

  • Thanks, I don't make these glazes either. Want to learn to get the commercial ones right before I move on to making my own :p

Seems to be more of a problem on the one clay, a smooth white stoneware...so I'll be doing more experiments to find out.

    Have fun with those teapots!

  • Nice pots. Shame about the blistering. I hope you get it sorted.

  • Thanks, I think the next experiment will be to slow the cooling down and get a even better mix of the glazes and clays sitting on the same shelf. I'll post the results. Thanks for watching.

  • I like your teapots. The handles are fun. I made a few teapots too... just waiting to glaze and fire.

I haven't made my own glazes yet. I've been reading a lot of books to learn, since my advanced pottery class teacher doesn't seem to know much about glazes. It just seems so complicated. What do you think is causing the blistering in this particular glaze?
