Digital Project for Theatre History. Performance Art in the Terezin Concentration "the Model Getto". Amazingly enough, there are many stories of theatre within Jewish concentration camps. This is a brief video about performance art in one of those camps and the paradox of how art both worked for and against the inhabitants. In 1940, the Gestapo took control of the Czechoslovakian fortress and housed both privileged jews and orphans. This video includes accomplishments made by jewish artists: Friedl Dicker-Branais, Pavel Friedman, Kurt Gerron, Hans Krasa, and the children's choir from the Prague orphanage.

  • This video is really well done. I have seen many about Terezin. My father, Karel Frohlich, is the violinist pictured in the center at 2:12. Very educational!

  • Frau Jesica where do you think you are ?

  • Protips:

    1. Get a narrator who does not have an irritating nasal voice. Learn to speak from the diaphragm.

    2. Try to avoid a snotty tone- you don't need to sound snotty.

    3. 0/10

  • Very well done! Bravo
