@deepblue69uk I should agree there it seems that these portable devices are MUCH more responsive than some of today's and yesterday's desktop and laptop PCs. I find that Psion and Palm devices are particularly fast taking into account the basic hardware they use (not basic at the time though).
What are you talking about? The Psion Netbook Pro doesn't even use a Pentium III processor. What I believe they mean is the overall responsiveness of the machine. Not the raw power of the hardware. The Psion Netbook Pro uses very modest componants compared to even standard laptops but because the OS and the software is designed to run on such a device it responses very quickly...and yes it can outpace a more powerful machine running equivalent (though not the same) software.
No Im saying that the Psion Netbook with EPOC, on it own terms (mainly text, and graphic only as support to text) in practical terms still beat the shit out of fx. a modern atom-based Netbook. It is instant on, with great software (full office, great agenda). It even supports live embedding of data in the office apps. Great intuitive programming language, long battery-life. Lovely keyboard, and long battery-life.
so your saying that an old pentium III computer with 256 mb of ram with a 40 gb HHD will beat the shit our of a core i7 extreme with 8 gb of ddr 4 ram running at 1666 MHz with a solid state drive... yeah right... and also older machines "design" arent that great cuz they dont realy follow proper form factor...
Eu amo NetBook so porque no Brasil não vende tem que pedir da China

Still use mine for Web browsing on 3G (using a Sierra AirCard 860) while on the road.

An old machine beats the shit out of young modern ones, simply due to design. Just bought one on Ebay, and love it.
