When two glass plates are separated at a 2.5 degree angle and placed in contact with water, a hyperbolic shape is created as the water creeps between the plates.

  • It's not really a video... it's just a bunch of still images shown in "video format"... Pity too, because I would have been interested to see the effect in action... perhaps with a bit of time-lapse to move things along...

  • thats funny I shouold see this now. I did this yesterday with some hair in between the glass plates. only 10 cm up. Today I tested with 60 cm but it did not work why I don't know. Something about the right distance. So I put bits of hair in between one side and nothing in the other. Still nothing. Maybe 60 cm is too high?
