eagle claw makes a great rod that has that amount of ridiculous play, they sell it at walmart it's all yellow.

I used to have that reel at the beginning of the video until a dumb kid stepped on it. I missed it so bad because it was given to me by my passed-away Grandfather.

@charliewecker I think it was filmed in Florida but don't know for sure. It never says where in any of Johnny's videos but it does say Florida Everglades in the one on Joan Salvato.

@paulc43 Using 1950s equipment in a row boat with no electronics against a world champion? I doubt it but I am very happy your super ego would think so. I am sad you have thumb cancer, maybe you should take it out of your bass?

amazing that they could get that slow motion of the reel on camera back then. I actually learned something watching this.....great thanks for posting.

The slow motion was the best part. You should see it in full resolution on DVD...
