@xinx03ovcm As far as I know, they only exist in the key of A, and they have the same upper range as a normal A clarinet, just with the extended lower range from E to C.
It certainly can go into the lower altissimo register, as in Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, but I wouldn't be suprised if there is a sacrifice in the tone of higher notes. This is purely speculation though, no experience.

Have you got Bb basset clarinet? And are the basset clarinets the same as the ordianry clarinets, except that they can play two more lower notes? I mean, because of their lengthened tube, they could sound lower in the high altissimo range...?!

@192asso The basset clarinet is pitched in A and they run for about $7000 list price I think.
