@casperskafs Well, you're right about that, it does work. I took a reading from my old speakers of right around 6.6 to 6.7 so those would be 8 ohm as I had anticipated. Thanks again for posting.

@casperskafs That's cool, I mean you know more about it than I do, but I'm guessing you must have consulted with the owner's manual or maybe somebody just told you to set it at 200? I am replacing some unmarked vintage woofers in my home stereo cabinets and I just want to make sure of the ohms, since my amp is a vintage treasure of mine and I don't want to risk running any lower than roughly an 8 ohm load, esp. since I will be using both the A and B channels (4 speaker cabinets).

I really appreciate you showing how to do this, but I'm just wondering....it seems kind of random how you set the meter to 200....can you tell me, how do you know why the meter is to be set to 200....what does that mean?
