2012 - Episode 12

In the early 1970's, Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams teamed up Green Lantern and Green Arrow for several years and broke new ground for social relevance in comic book storytelling. In this episode, I take a closer look at the 2-volume collection that reprints that classic run.

  • Hey! I absolutely love your in depth reviews of movies and comic books. And I'm really glad that you are enjoying the GL franchise! I highly recommend that you read GL Emerald Twilight which was a series written in the 90s where it shows the fall of Hal Jordan. I also recommend GL Rebirth which depicts the revival of HJ.

  • Awesome, Sean! I've been teaching GL #76 and others in my US history courses for years; my university students get a kick of out using comic books as primary sources to understand the rise of social justice issues in popular culture (as you pointed out). My GL #76 is my most prized possession (maybe it's my car or my laptop). It'd be neat to see you do some other comic book reviews as you chat about Blue-Rays of superhero cartoons. Heck, I might just assign your vid to my students! Seriously:-P

  • I think you should make a channel, or a series of videos where you read comics aloud and show some panels like you just did in this video because watching this was very entertaining.

  • @RazMansReality sometime I meant of course lol

  • @Zaranyzerak Awesome thanks man. Would ya mind doing another tutorial for me some on the pro type titler? You can make it privite if ya want it's just that I've tried to watch some & there all make it sound & look so hard to do. & yes naturally that thing is awesome thanks again for showing it to me!

  • @itsfrank0 Yeah, I just looked up that Best Of disc. That's of no interest to me, I either have or plan to get all the shows that those episodes are taken from.

  • @itsfrank0 I don't know what that DVD is, I've never seen it around. If it's just a collection of Justice League episodes or whatever, I'm not interested in that as I'll be getting all of the full shows anyway. And yes, they should ABSOLUTELY make a live action Green Arrow, I'd love to see that.
