Food Irradiation (1993): For decades the nuclear industry has promoted food irradiation to extend its storage life and develop a use for nuclear wastes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been urging the mandatory radiation exposure of meat. In 1992 the first U.S. food irradiation plant (the Vindicator facility in Florida) opened - with food irradiation proponents hoping it would be the first of thousands. In this Enviro Close-Up, Michael Colby, executive director of Food & Water, Inc., the principal group fighting food irradiation in the U.S. , details the technologys history and current status, and connects food irradiation to cancer. UK residents please sign my petition to ensure labelling of irradiated food, the link is on my channel.
Can't you get rid of the adverts? greenpeace has been hijacked by communists using the environmental movement to impose their manifesto on us. Gloabl warming was renamed climate change cos it's been cooling for 9 years. CO2 is good for plant growth = food & oxygen production. Increase CO2 emmissions to fight poverty, starvation, & global cooling. Irradiated food = shit worse than excrement.
