I remember the "Bell Bird" being played as a backing to David Attenborough`s series "Zoo Quest in Paraguay" in 1959. It was amazing then! its interpretation of the Bird is incredible. Iv`e never forgotten its haunting melody. Hence 50 years on I still find it irresistible.

I first heard this being played by Trio Los Paraguayos on an old 10" 33rpm record Paraguayan Songs (Philips BBR8074) and which also had another harp solo Misionera on side 1. All wonderful music and its also wonderful that Francisco is keeping this harp music alive.

I first heard Bell Bird in the late '50s (Family Favourites) and have a Phillips 45rpm EP by them with it on. It was realy through that tune that Francisco & I became friends.
