Gender Equality isn't just doing things for and focusing on women. Leveling it out rather than just turning the tables will require changes and opening new things up on both sides. Until everyone understands that and acts on it nothing good will happen; You'll simply shift the bitterness to the other side. We also need to stop the whole men are from mars women are from venus approach and focus on the SIMILARITIES rather than the differences and try to eliminate the differences where we can.

Do women truly want to be treated equal with men? Personally, I think the goal of fairness is fair better than equality. Women-only health clubs are not about gender equality (obviously!), and there are plenty of them around. More public bathrooms for women than men is a good idea, but certainly not equal. And when a married couple hear a strange sound downstairs at night, is there an equal change the women will investigate? I doubt it!

@philipbabb Zealot can also mean "A fanatically committed person" so I guess we mean the same thing. For your reference the Ottoman Empire disbanded in 1924, before Hitler came to power. In fact it was the Ottoman Empire which took in the Jewish refugees fleeing the (Christian) Inquisition in Spain.

@OneGodNoPartners Hitler a zealot? Well he was mad and influenced alot of people into doing bad things but his ideology was not religious in nature. It was not scientific that we can besure of but to the best of my knowledge his hatred was not inspired by any faith. However is was not opposed and was supported by some religious organizations. The catholic church made no opposition against him and in time he made negotiations with the Ottoman empire due to their common hatred for jews.

@philipbabb Hang on a sec, I affirmed "stoning" to death as a punishment for adultery in the Torah, New Testament and the Quran - your argument was death for dressing immodestly. You obviously haven't a proof for that so I'd urge you not to pass comments of that nature, i.e. without reference / proof.

I don't disagree with your point concerning zealots, sadly they're in every walk of life, irrespective of religion / background. Hitler is probably the most notable in modern history.

@OneGodNoPartners And here is the proof, a stoning for "adultery" and punished in the name of god. Youtube won't let me post the link but you'll find it in your message box. And to clearify I don't put faith in the torah or the bible as you put it in the quaran. Any barbarik dogma they encourage is just as sick as any to be found in the quaran. A zealot is a zealot no matter what religion they are from.

We both know rape is wrong but they'll never believe that if they feel they have a religion backing up their actions. Since the problem exist with in some men there is no reason why should all women should have to pay for it. Please be patient for that proof, youtube seems to have a problem with me posting a web address.
