Replacing an electrical circuit breaker: how to match up a circuit breaker is an important step when you need to replace a breaker in a sub-panel. All circuit breakers are not created equal as there are many styles of circuit breakers & only one type will fit your electrical sub panel. Do you know how to match up your electrical circuit breaker at your sub-panel? It's kind of easy but if you don't know this......what would you do?......guess? There's nothing worse than to go to the store & pick up a circuit breaker & come back & it doesn't fit your particular electrical sub-panel. Let's see if "joe" has some ideas for you, before you purchase a circuit breaker.

  • How many sub panels can a building have

  • @Nickrox48 Generally there is one sub-panel per main panel. If a building has 6 main panels outside, like an apartment building, then you will have 6 sub-panels inside the main area of each apartment. You could have another sub-panel off of one sub-panel, for a total of 2 but most places get by with just one sub-panel. Did I answer your question? If not, send another specific question. Joe :0

  • hmmm...miss-labeled video. this should be titled how to figure out what kind of breaker to buy.

  • @Kidtrd I could've called it that....but doesn't my title pretty much mean the same thing? Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate your comments. Joe :0

  • @TeDuaMalakie If you don't feel comfortable replacing a bad breaker, then get a pro to change it out for you. If you turn the main power off, it's pretty easy to replace a breaker though.....provided you have the right replacement breaker to install. Thanks again for commenting. Joe :0

  • ours is Mitsubishi, and looks pretty the same, i would not mess with those though !.

  • Aren't tape measures a waste of time? They don't seem to measure properly in a d.i.y. store.....How do you fix one of those?

Thank you for all your tips.

    Jennie.

  • @TheBuffaloChicken Thanks for your comments. Good to hear from you! Joe :0
