This has been my favourite book! Laurence Hill has visited my school one time and I was very fascinated with every historical facts he told. The book makes me imagine a realistic world during its time periods.

I must read this, some of my ancestors were spanish slave traders trading at guinea bissau.
Slavery is as old as history itself. People had to do what they did to survive the best they could.

Very powerful. I've had a chance to look at the illustrated edition-- it's beautiful. I wish I had it when I first read the book.

I wonder if the lady who narrated this will narrate an audio book version of this? I would love that! She has an amazing voice. I wonder who she is?
