From the perspective of thousands of mutilated survivors of Sierra Leone, comes the compelling documentary, "Rising from the ashes of war: The Re-branding of Sierra Leone". This film exposes the real life of Hollywood's "Blood Diamond" dramatization.

Elijah Malachi X Mothershed Bey, an independent film producer, interviewed the people and captured not only the devastation of eleven years of war but also harnessed the strength and hope of the peoples challenge to rise again, as a strong democratic nation.

Mothershed Bey and a film crew spent six months filming interviews and establishing networks dedicated to educating and empowering the survivors many of whom lost limbs as forces maimed, pillaged, and tortured men, women and children in an effort to dominate the country.

  • @pablo42153 There is a history behind it. Read more factual info and do not judge. One book that is good is "A long way gone" by Ishmael Beah. he was a boy soldier himself.

  • Wishing Sierra Leona a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous new future.
