this a short video of the electric go kart. We started out with a gasoline powered go kart frame/kit, and converted it all to electric then assembled it. it took about 6 weeks, and it still isn't completely done. It uses a Kelly PWM controller and a MET motor running on 24v.

thats one fucking monster motor. its probably starving for power though. motor looks like it came from a huge industrial air compressor or something that probably ran on 240 volts. id get at least 8 batteries for that beast

what is the model of the motor and where did you get it?
I can only find to 1,000 watts. Nice Ride.

Awesome!! Talking about solar power, get a couple of battery solar powered trickle chargers, so you run the car off the battery but it charges!
