Sixty kilometers from Pingyao is the very impressive Wang Family Compound. The biggest one around, over 600 years old, owned and lived in by 12 generations. There were at least 500 ROOMS surrounded by walls and towers. As the Wang family grew, they just kept adding on...and on...and on....

Much bigger than the Qiao Family Compound and a definite "must see" if you are in this region. Whether it was learning about the lifestyles in that time, or watching men painstakingly repairing roofs, a great excursion.
