The Wesleyan Chinese Music Ensemble's fall 2008 concert (Dec. 7) at Wesleyan University. The theme of this semester's concert is Taiwan. This is the fourth piece of the concert. The concert is directed by Po-wei Weng & Joy Lu. Members of the ensemble include: Tom Yoshio Akita (daruan and percussion), Deena Chen (dizi), Aivi Doan (erhu), Chia-Wei Hsu (zheng, daruan and percussion), Ponpatchara Issaraviriyakul (erhu), Sue-Jung Jang (dizi), Joy Chia-Yu Lu (gaohu and erhu), Alec McLane (sheng, gaohu and percussion), Hoang Nguyen (erhu), George Manheimer Pritzker (liuqin), Elizabeth Stivison (zhongruan), Aunchisa Tapanakornvut (yangqin), Robert Wedgbury (sanxian and percussion), Po-wei Weng (dizi), Feifei Wu (erhu), Jiaxin Xu (erhu), Wan Jun Yang (yangqin), Erik Youngdahl (zhonghu and erhu), and Mei Chai Zheng (zheng). Guest musician: Joseph Getter, (percussion), Hsiu-Chi Liao (yangqin), and Su Zheng (cello).

It absolutely AMAZING to have a Chinese ensemble in a US college!!! How did you manage to get all the instruments, and how long did it take to train newbies on erhu and ruan??

Wow, that's Alec McLane on sheng? Good job! That's a very large ensemble for a small college. It also shows real class that you listed all the players in the end credits.
