Kaede was my favorite character too, and always will be, but guess what? She didn't die at the end, that was changed. In the story-mode of Onimusha Blade Warriors, Kaede finds Samanosuke 10 years later after Oni 1. But 11 years later in 1582, just before Oni 3 beings, I'm sorry to say that she dies.
