The tyres are Proline but not sure what type, and its a modified Tamiya Clodbuster.

is that really as steep as it looks? its pretty sweet how they just stick to it like a bug lol. What crawler the 1st one with the jeep body? anyone know .. or is it custom ?

yes it is as steep as it looks, you can see when John is stood next to it. The 1st crawler is a custom build based on Tamiya Clod axles and a pimp cane chassis from The Crawler Store in the US. The 2nd crawler is also pretty custom using Tamiya TLT axles and a Bender (now part of Axial) SW3 Chassis.

does electric rc is better that gas for rock crawling?

I have seen a few goes at gas rock crawlers but I have no doubt that electric is much better. You need smooth slow speed control which suits electric.
