Is 3d coat free?
-
@Gilesruscoe Works great! Makes it a little less of a pain for me to make textures now, hehe (I'm new to 3d modeling). Thanks a bunch, Giles!

@Gilesruscoe thank you, I have checked it out, really great forum!

Hey Giles, are you using the built-in "Texture Paint"? How did you paint your models on Photoshop and update it on Blender at the same time?
ericpota 6 months ago
@ericpota Hi there Eric,
I don't use blenders texture painting mod (i use a program called 3D Coat for that). To update the textures quickly in blender just save the texture from Photoshop, hover your mouse over the UV/Image editor panel in Blendr and press ALT-R to reload the texture. Hope this helps!

I am very inspired by your skills. I would like to see myself doing stuff like this in a year or two. I am going to univeristy on Computer Arts course next year. I would like to have a better start. Could you be so kind and maybe give me some advice for good tutorials and/or lessons? Free if possible. I am poor, it sucks.

@Foqerman My biggest suggestion to you is to go on polycount forums (google it) and post up your work and get critiques.

how did you mirror on the x-axe the model in blender?
dae67 8 months ago
@dae67 On the modifier list in blender, select mirror. Then on the mirror modifier select "x axis".
Heres a pic explaining: dl(dot)dropbox(dot)com/u/14324914/mirror.jpg
replace (dot)'s with actual .'s
