  • Hey they are mostly sunflower seeds

  • That's a plastic hand that you buy at a Halloween store....I can tell by the way it is shaped....but still, very clever to put a video camera next to it.

  • @andres91881 You obviously haven't checked out my other chickadee feeding video.

  • 0:34 !!!!!!!!!!! LMFAO! The chickadee landed but the woddpecker just took over lmao!!

    Chick: "Yes! All Min-"

    Woodpecker: "COMING THROUGH!"

Chick: "bitch!!!" LMFAO!!!!! omg!! it all happened so fast but you can just tell what they're thinking XD Yeah, i love animals especially birds, I should go down there more often but I have to walk along Victoria road(all those cars and trucks so close to the side of the road- it's scary) When the woodpecker first came to my hand I thought it'd hurt XD

  • @nddlj lol imagine if he pecked your hand? You should hitchike there! I'll probably be there on Saturday afternoon, lol. I had a nuthatch land on my hand twice when I was there, but they are difficult to coax.

  • anyone else see the squirrel running on the ground?

  • Whta are them seeds called in the video?

  • What a fantastic video!

  • It takes alot of skill to handfeed birds. The birds in my backyard haven't really come around yet but they might eventually.

  • Wow!Downy woodpeckers are so tiny!!!

  • @andres91881 lol you dont live in canada.

  • About 1:12 you can discern the black spots on the white outer tail feathers. These black marks are the Downy's signature, for those of you scratching your heads about his ID. Apart from a Hairy not having those spots, a Hairy would be much less likely to land on your hand; plus he'd be bigger; plus a Hairy would have a bill which might make you hope the woodpecker wasn't going to presume any familiarity that was more than skin deep.

  • @TdotSoul Where do you live? I live in Hocking Hills Ohio; I get a variety of woodpeckers, usually downy or red bellied, as well as tufted titmice, nuthatches and chickadees most often feeding on my deck where I lay seeds. I'd like to try this, do you have to be still for a very long time before the birds feed out of your hand? Sorry about all of the questions I just love this video and want to try this!

  • OMG starting 0:49 he's scoping birds. He gonna shoot!!!!!!
