Aftermath of Hurricane Irene in Greenfield, MA. Flood waters tore through a beloved swimming hole in the Green River, also the historic site where Eunice Williams, wife of Jonathan Williams, was killed March 1, 1704 during the Deerfield massacre.
Now the road to the covered bridge, dam, beaches and meadows are gone. The foundation of the covered bridge is no longer sound.
