AMAZING!!! I think that when you start any thermalcycler it should play that song. Simply brilliant.
...when you need to know who your daddy is.

This would be better if Kary Mullis weren't a complete psycho. It's kind of hard to idolize someone who doesn't believe in the ozone hole, global warming, HIV as the cause of AIDs, but does believe in astrology and talking raccoons.

My spouse (another Biochem PhD) has met him. Says he's a complete pot-head whose grad students did most/all of the grunt work (what a shock). But PCR changed the world...

bio-rad *would* need to make a song to promote their thermalcyclers... they suck.
ABI all the way!

Umm, it's not about the machine, it's the IDEA that is do darn funny. I've used many different machines, have my preferences, but honestly don't care who sang this song. What matters is that it is the best geek-scientist parody I've ever seen! I don't care if the company behind the song is Bio-Rad, Eurogentec, or Invitrogen: they deserve a high five for creativity!
