I'm surprised nobody before has commented on what a refreshingly different approach to presenting classical music this is.
It looks marvellous. The nearest I've come to seeing anything like it was John Grierson showing music performances on This Wonderful World (UK ITV c. 1961) where you never saw the performers' faces, and all was in darkness.
If anyone remembers or has more info, I'd be interested.

What a tremendous, unexpected, and delightful surprise! A wonderful performance presented in an engagingly witty and exceptionally inventive way. These days people would be too concerned with Credibility - that destroyer of creativity - to dare try anything similar. It should go without saying that Cocteau - Honegger's muse at the time - would approve wholeheartedly.

@ViewerNotes: I can't see why it's horrific.

Honegger gang bang.

youre so right this is so awkward to watch

the video in itself is horrific, but the non-stop awesome music of Arthur Honegger redeems it.
Please post more of this wonderful performer's music!! She is great.

In the info box at upper right, I added a link to her website--she has several nice music videos there available for viewing, including a "Rhapsody In Blue" featuring the same conductor and film director as this Honegger piece.
