Alan Wilson Watts was a British philosopher, writer, speaker, and student of comparative religion. He was best known as an interpreter and popularizer of Asian philosophies for a Western audience.

He wrote more than 25 books and numerous articles on subjects such as personal identity, the true nature of reality, higher consciousness, meaning of life, concepts and images of God and the non-material pursuit of happiness. In his books he relates his experience to scientific knowledge and to the teachings of Eastern and Western religion and philosophy.

  • 7:00 to 8:00.... Alan Watts could be quite funny but here he makes a good point. Even though I love Alan Watts' talks, I am aware how sometimes people who listen to him can start to almost revere the "him" they know (and that just from videos) as some sort of guru. What I like about Watts is that he says otherwise.

Remember that your own 'image' of Alan Watts is just an image assembled from these talks mixed around in your particular organism-environment ;-). Same goes for even one's 'self'.
