FS2004 Tutorial: How to Improve Frame Rates Pt. 1

After scearching for weeks, I finally came up with a solution. I explain it all here in this two part tutorial. This MAY work with FSX and/or XP. It has not been tested. Here are my computer specs:

Vista Home Premium
Intel Core Duo 1.5 GHz processer
3 GB RAM

As you can tell, I have a somewhat low system. Here are the add-ons used for the test flight that could bog down the system:

Default C172
FlyTampa Seattle (KSEA)
Adobe's AI Traffic Pack
Cielosim Instant Enhancer
TrackIr

Before steps in the video:

8 FPS (Slideshow)

After steps in video:

30 FPS (Smooth)

Terrain Detail: Land Only
Water Effects: Low
Dawn/Dusk Texture Blenting: Checked
Extended Terrain Textures: Unchecked
Scenery Complexity: Dense
Autogen: Dense
Add-on Dynamic Scenery: Dense
Ground Scenery Shadows: Checked
Sun Flare: Checked
Lens Flare: Checked

AIRCRAFT:

Global Quality: Medium Low
Guage Quality: High
Aircraft Shadows: Checked
Landing Lights Illuminate Runway: Checked

WEATHER:

Sight Distance: 60 mi
Cloud Draw Distance: 30 mi
3D Clouds: 50%
Detailed Clouds: Checked and set to High

Frame Rate Lock: 40 FPS

Filter: Bilinear

nice video. Although, for all the start up programs that i didnt want i removed them instead of disabling them like you said to in your video. Will this have the same effect??

Yes, they will have the same effect. Only if you remove them, you will not be able to use them again unless you restore your computer. Use at your own risk!
