It matters little whether or not you use it proudly but, rather, how it is used with reference to African peoples/societies. The word tribal is not word derivative of any word found in the languages of the African continent...But that is besides the point. The point is that if used in its technical sense, across the board, then it would be acceptible because there would be no disparaging connotations so associated. .

You have no right to tell anyone not to use the word tribal.
There is NOTHING wrong with that word! I use the word proudly! Why do you have to compare our terms with the terms of Gaelic or Germanic people? So, by your ideology, any word that is not "accepted" or used by whites is deemed inferior? I guess if Germanic people decide to embrace the word one day, you'll use it proudly? shame.

Please stop saying tribal. People, populations or ethnic groups are closer to being accurate and less outdated. One never speaks of Gaelic or Germanic peoples as tribal, though they could be viewed in the same way.

this is Baamaya dancing from Dagbon, Northern Region in Ghana. it is performed though by dancing groups from all over Ghana and they all have their own version of it, but it comes from Dagbon
