@MrMattvollmer There's not much emphasis on the love story between Kitty and Levin in the movie...the focus is on Anna and Vronsky. Then again, it's been a while since I've seen the movie, and I've never read the book, so I wouldn't know...sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Oh, I see. How about a song for Kitty and Levin? Now THERE'S a love story worth celebrating. I've been listening to the book and CD, and it is an outstanding portrayal of the complex interactions between very believable human characters and circumstances.
@MrMattvollmer I haven't read the book, but the movie does portray Anna having an affair with Vronsky while being married to Karenin, so I think the basic premise of the movie matches that of the book, which is, from what I can gather, a tragic love story. I re-interpreted events in the movie to match the mood/lyrics of the song, which is why it seems much happier, and why Karenin became the "daddy" rather than Anna's husband.
Interesting. In Tolstoy's original story, Anna Karenina was married to another man (Alexei Karenin) and has an long-standing affair with Vronsky. Haven't seen the movie. Looks like it's a far cry from the book.
