Did Britney really sing Toxic?

Britney Spears claims to be the vocalist for her hit song Toxic. The song which won a Grammy in 2004 and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 may not be sung by the person everyone thinks. Cathy Dennis, the writer of Toxic, recorded a solo version of Toxic long before Britney's version. Cathy's original vocals were used as the main vocal for the final song by 'Britney' with Britney adding little new vocals to the song. Cathy was credited only as a background vocalist for the song, although her vocals were more prominent than the supposed lead vocalist. Listen for yourself. The video compares Cathy's original version of "Toxic" to the final Britney version. Who do YOU think is the real singer?

Of course u can hear Cathy's voice! She's the background singer... so, you can hear her voice... But, you're just taking little pieces of the music... it's so stupid to compare the version who has a "robot" voice.... Whatever, it's different, sorry. dude there is one thing that make no sence i Heared the occial TOXIC verison by britney and the video u putted as britney singing THere is a different i think u putted cathy version TWICE cuz there is a a bit DIfference and britney is singing it Live sorry to tell u .its Britney the main singer and there are a HUGE DIFFERENCE but also cathy recored it as a back ground so sorry it is BRITNEY.

Most of backing vocals have similar voices to the main singers... Cathy did background vocals, but you can really hear Britney's voice on Britney's version, but that's because they're voices are similar

But seriously, even if she didn't contribute much to THIS song, she still co-wrote several songs on the In The Zone album and even contributing to producing one or two. And she DID sing on Toxic, you can hear her very clearly. What was the point of this, do you have a vendetta against Britney or something?

@kqkrebs That's where I don't follow these people who claim Britney is talentless. Considering what happened with Milli Vanilli and the controversy there, I don't think that record companies would make such a mistake again. I mean think about it. That's a huge financial risk. I just can't imagine record companies taking the risk of putting a talentless artist out there.
