I am using these workouts during the switching phase of my Smolov cycle for front squats. This is from the last session of the switching phase. It's boring enough so I will show only the first front squat set and the first series of cleans...

Front Squat:
92.5% x 2 reps x 2 sets (5 min rest between sets)

rest 5 minutes

Clean:
80% x 1 rep x 6 sets x 2 series (one clean every ~20-30 sec; rest 5 minutes between series 1 and 2)

rest 10 minutes

Repeat whole complex...

I am using 130kg and 80kg here and though it doesn't look like much that workout is a killer.

  • im not sure front squat really would be the best exercise to contrast with the clean. maybe a heavy clean pull then clean ?

  • when you say %80 for the clean, is that the % of your max on the clean? or the % of what you were squatting

  • I respect your hard work and would like to know what results you have yielded here.

    Thanks,

    CC

  • Great way to train man. You're getting so much more out of those movements than a gym full of fancy equipment. Your set up is sweet, love it.

  • Great work! I love fron squats as well! But may I know what is Verkhoshansky's stimulation method?
