@halite001 Yes, and those short drop shots could be a block that clipped the net and rolled over. Happens all the time, being able to step in and perform a strong flip and then spring back to prepare for the counterhit is good stuff.

@Anakin0815 Not necessarily, especially when you're facing pips.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with expecting a certain kind of return, but sometimes a new opponent somehow surprises you with something you never thought could happen after a certain shot. So it's good to have footwork to prepare you for surprises.

This is a random drill designed to put you in awkward situations for you to use your head to kinda solve it .

The trainer is not soo good because he plays some combinations that are not suitable. After a hard offense u never get a short return. But he plays sometimes ling and short. Dont missunderstand me. Short -> Long is good, but after hard Topspins short is NONSENSE.
Its just training for footwork...
I feel sorry for those kids who have to pick up the balls afterwards...
