The EOS 7D is Canon's latest DSLR, built for those seeking the convenience and affordability of the EOS 50D, inspired by the image quality and HD video potential of the EOS 5D Mark II, and eager for the high performance and durability of the EOS-1D series.
This is a totally new class of camera built from the ground-up to capitalize on advances in Canon's AF system, EOS HD Video functionality, exposure performance, and other core technologies. Combined with the best existing features of the current EOS line, the EOS 7D goes beyond capturing amazing still images -- it's a complete media creation tool.
@aggrogjones press the wb (the one left af-drive) and rotate the thing near the shutter button and choose spot metering

Can you activate the grid and the af points at the same time

How do you get the spot meter display circle turned on? I can get the grid and focal points to show but can't find that circle anywhere in the options or CF
Any help would be great :)

So youre gonna get the 7D (with its virtually 100% viewfinder :)) )? From what I have read on many forums it doesn't appear that it is has better image quality than the 50D and noise control is virtually the same. Video is a plus, but I prefer having a separate video camera. I have a powershot SX1 with full HD video and an equivalent zoom range of 28 - 1120mm and auto focus, so that will do me fine! Still I'd probably get a 7D if I could afford it..

I know right... virtually 100% !? So not 100% then? I know it has viewfinder magnification but I think they're just covering their ass & allowing for shenanigans.
Anyway, I didn't upgrade to the 50D because I was waiting for the next camera & that's this brilliant 7D. Anyone want a 500D?

If what you see is what you get why is the viewfinder approximately 100%? Why not just say it is 100%.
