Salmon fishing from the shores of Whidbey Island

On that first fish I was wondering why Thomas needed pliers to get out a BARBLESS hook. Then Cliff mentioned that some guys like treble hooks, but he uses single hooks. Then it occured to me that maybe you guys are unclear on the fishing regs. You can only use single point barbless hooks, but you can use up to two hooks behind your buzz bomb. Also, if you go a little further down the road to Admiralty Inlet, you don't have to do the hike at Fort Casey. Take it from a Whidbey lifer. :)

@austinnale I forget what we were using that day, but I think it was probably #12 mono. Thomas likes braid so it was probably a little heavier than that.

I was at Fort Worden and caught a 20lb Chinook on my third cast with a white buzz bomb with a grey stripe =D

@Kremlin60 A lot of people think that big fish are only off shore. That is way wrong. Those fish all will come up in the shallows to find breakfast. You should come over to the site and send us a picture of that bad boy!

@devildawgpetri Really? You had to stop and think that one up all by yourself? If you are going to insult us, at least be creative!
