  • Arafat was offered 97% percent of the West Bank and Gaza. He not only rejected the offer but started the 2nd intifada with zero counteroffer. Arafat was invested in the "struggle" not Palestinian statehood. People, the only reason for checkpoints is because they save lives from the sicko suicide bombers who try to cross the border on a daily basis. Israelis have nothing to gain from "oppressing" Palestinian people. They must secure their civilians from a hostile fundamentalist population.

  • If israel isn't lying they are just setting up for the next lie. You can't be that stupid to believe a word out of their mouths after all murdering and lying and thieving they've done.

  • 5 Years later

  • the 90% offer 2 palestine is bullshit, 90% was just a number but didnt mean anything the israel will still patrol in the area under palestine control so that is complete nonsense its just the same occupation but excluded jersalem which palestinians r fighting for, nd wanted arafat 2 turn it down so they can go on tv nd say oo arafat turned the peace deal down he wants war.. stop the naiveness god bless u arafat

  • Michael Oren did in fact distort the truth. The Palestinians were offered 90% of the West Bank and Gaza, however, those areas would still be occupied by Israel with border patrols, checkpoints, military tanks, and Israel's oh-so-enjoyable "collective punishment." Hussein Ibish is my hero. He understands that the only way to create peace between the Israelis and Palestinians is to grant them a state they can call home.
