This engine has been operational for almost 11 years. Kudos to the CA State Railroad Museum to keeping this locomotive well loved & Maintained.

nice video of my favorite steam locomotive! #10 spent her working life in Aromas Ca. just a few miles from my house here in Hollister!

This is the most beautiful steam locomotive I have ever seen.

Yes it is. I rode on it recently.

The engineer is holding back on the whistle. I heard the whistle fully open at Niles, and it packs a punch.

It's not only the fact 4466 burns coal, her boiler certificate expired in 1999, and she is in the need of a 1472 day inspection. It's $100K for the overhaul, plus a $50 for converting her to oil. So it's time and fund consuming, and if funds went to 4466, they would go away from Sierra number 3 which is in more of a need to steam again.

I'm with you on that, and I was sad to see her go. She'll be back hopefully before #10 goes out for her 15-year overhaul. Sacramento needs steam.

What??????? No open air cars?????????

AHHHHHH, look at the passenger cars! LOL! There all Southern Pacific!
Except the red and orange Daylight car.
They just repainted the top and painted it "Sacramento Southern"]

I agree with you Dan, but I don't think that the #4466 will run anytime soon. I didn't mind seeing this engine though. Thanks.
