yeah that video is emotional moving...
the thing ist, we have to get parents to wearing a helmet as well to act as a role model for children. otherwise (most) children will take their partets who don't wear one as an example...

@downfader2 did you say you cater to hospitals? that would make you a nutritionist at best, hardly a neurosurgeon. don't speak like you know what you're talking about.

Depends at what speed his head would hit the ground. Anything over 12mph and it isnt garanteed. Helmets certainly arent garateed against motorvehicles either.
I reitterate - had he been trained to observe the risks at junctions properly he would not be in the situation in the first place.
I'm well aware of trauma of the brain, I work in hospital catering and we meet people like this everyday. All you can do is limit the damage with a helmet - they are still largely untested.

that happened 2 my cousin today
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing. My 2 sons have to wear a helmet but I see every morning wear so many children don´t have one on. The police and teachers beg the parents almost on a daily basis to buy their children a helmet. It´s sad that they don´t take responsibility for their children´s safety.
think about it, had he not had a helmet, his head would have hit the ground unprotected, and he may not be here today, then we'd be hearing a different story. do some research on Traumatic Brain Injury and you will see that being safe really can save. A helmet protecting a child from injury is NOT comparable to saying a ridiculous thing like riding a bike cures cancer. more like, wearing sunscreen can protect you from the sun. not 100%, but a lot better than if you had none.
